5 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari- Enjoy game drives and a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel (huge populations of hippos and crocodiles on the banks) in Queen elizabeth park and then transfer to Bwindi forest where you will get the lifetime opportunity of tracking the endangered African mountain gorilla.
Day 1: Early Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park- (the Medley of wonders)
On this day after enjoying breakfast, the drive guide will drive with you to Queen Elizabeth National Park (home of over 606 bird species and still counting..). en-routing the Equator for wonderful moments of phenomenal photography. Taking photos in both the South and Northern Hemisphere at the same time is sensentional. Queen Elizabeth National park presently boosts the highest biodiversity rating of any game park in Uganda with its dense swamps, beautiful crater lakes, open savannah and rain forest, the park is gifted wit almost 100 species of mammals including the elephants (highly engangered mcrocodileammals in Uganda), buffaloes, lion, leopards, giant forest hog, and hippos, among others. The park has got an outstanding 606 bird species including; black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl, African skimmer, martial eagle. The beautiful curve at the kyambura gorge is an ideal location to track the cheerful and full –of- fun chimps and colobus monkeys. Other primates found in the gorge include: red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus and the red colobus. You will make it in time for the 2 hours Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George, one of the most exciting activities in Uganda with a chance to see a huge population of Hippos and Crocodiles in water while elephants and buffaloes grazing on the banks of the channel as well as an array of birdlife including; the kingfishers, Egyptian fish eagle, saddle billed stork, among others.You will have wonderful overnight and tasty dinner at Ihamba Lakeside lodge- Mid range. Full board meals.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge and evening game drive for the rare leopard and lions
This day after breakfast, rise early and depart for the 8:00am Chimpanzee Tracking in the Kyambura gorge to watch the delightful primates that are more closely related to humans than any other animals, after this beautiful activity which usually lasts about 3-5 hours, enjoy your picnic lunch and take retire back yto your lodge. After napping and relaxing of the morning fatigue, you will prepare and embark on the pleasurable evening game drive around the park. this will be a good time to sight the rare park’s leopards and lions while they retire to their dens. The drive will bless your stay with wonderful photographic moments as you witness the bird-life and the park while taking in the freshness of the environment. You will return to the lodge for dinner and peaceful overnight at Ihamba Lakeside safari camp. Meal plan: full board.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector (spending some quality time with the Tree climbing lions)
This morning, you will wake up with a beautiful feeling if you had chances with rare wildlife during the evening game viewing drives. The moment will be quite intense and pleasureable for you as you take your morning breakfast at your lodge. This is the day we cross and continue south to the section of the tree clinbing liopns. The guide will be ready to drive with you to the Ishasha sector- for great opportunities to spot the famous tree climbing lions as they relax among the tree branches of the various fig trees. This part of the park has been famed for the climbing lions, be keen though, many times they have been reported to wander off on such (short-notice) in search for prey and pleasurable-relaxation. You will spend some time at this section before finally transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable forest for your wonderful overnight and dinner at Lake Kitandara Tented camps.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Parkmountain-gorilla-uganda
After a very early hearty breakfast, report to the ranger station at 7:45am and prepare to enter the maginificent gorilla-sanctuary forest with the ranger guides for the most interesting and humbling wildlife experience – Gorilla Tracking. The tracking activity for the mountain gorillas takes between an hour to about 7 hours or more normally depending upon their previous night’s location in the sanctuary forest. Do not forget to carry with you a steady pair of walking/ tracking boots/ shoes as well as a reasonable degree of fitness (very important for gorilla tracking). You will enjoy your picnic lunch and prepare to return back to the lodge for wonderful dinner and overnight. The tracking safari in the Bwindi forest permits an hour with these delightful mountain gorillas grumble at each other. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Tented camps- Full board..Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Prepare for transfer back to Kampala with the driver guide.
This will be your last day of the travel program, the driver will bring you back to Kampala for your next travel program
