Day 1: Nairobi

Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi you’ll be met by one of our representatives and driven to the hotel for the night. There will be a pre-departure trip meeting in the evening.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park

Today you’ll be driven to the Nakuru National Park where you can see thousands of blushing pink Flamingos and is one of the best places in Kenya to see White Rhino as well as other wildlife on an afternoon game drive. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 3: Masai Mara

After breakfast delight in game viewing in the Lake Nakuru National Park before being driven to the Masai Mara National Reserve. After settling into camp for the night set out to explore the savannahs on a guided game drive. The famed Great Migration reaches its climax here, but the wildlife is plentiful year round. It has the largest Lion population on Earth. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 4: Masai Mara

Perhaps start the day with an (optional at extra cost) hot air balloon safari which offers one of the most serene and spectacular ways to view the plains. Spend a full day exploring the park with both morning and afternoon game drives. A highlight of many East African safaris is learning about African cultures. During one of the drives visit a traditional Maasai village and learn about their way of life. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 5: Lake Victoria

Continuing your East African safari, travel out of Kenya to Speke Bay on Lake Victoria in Tanzania, crossing the border at Isabenia. After settling into your lodge set out on a gentle bird watching walk to see the many species of bush swamp and water fowl that live around the lodge. Listen out for the haunting cry of the Fish Eagle. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 6: Serengeti

Travel to the continuation of the Mara ecosystem where the rest of the dramas of the Great Migration play out – the Serengeti National Park. The Wildebeest breed here between December and May and you can see many different antelope as well as predators such as Lion, Cheetah and Leopard. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 7: Serengeti

If you have forgone the hot air balloon safari in the Mara – it’s highly recommended that you consider doing this optional activity in the Serengeti as it is an absolute must during East African safaris. Another optional activity offered is a walking safari where you can experience this iconic destination on foot. Alternatively head out on morning and afternoon game drives in the hands of an experienced guide who will help track the animals and tell you about life in the African savannahs. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater

After a morning game drive in the Serengeti and a tasty breakfast travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, stopping en route at the Olduvai Gorge and Museum to see where many hominid fossils have been discovered. There will be time to relax and settle-in after arriving at the lodge for the night. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 9: Lake Manyara

In the morning descend into the iconic Ngorongoro Crater and delight in a game drive during your wildlife safari holiday. Stop off in a scenic spot and continue game watching while tucking into a tasty picnic lunch which will leave you refreshed for the drive to Lake Manyara National Park where the game drive will continue. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 10: Lake Manyara and Mto Wa Mbu

Spot lots of wildlife on a morning game drive around Lake Manyara. In the afternoon you can enjoy just staying in camp and relaxing or head out on another game drive to see what wildlife you encounter. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 11: Kilimanjaro Foothills

In the morning enjoy optional activities at the Mto Wa Nbu Cultural region where you can go cycling among wildlife, go canoeing on the lake, visit a Masai homestead and sample traditional food and much more. In the afternoon the tour continues, stopping at Arusha for the night. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)

Day 12: Kilimanjaro Foothills

In the morning explore the Kilimanjaro foothills. There is a choice of either a walking safari to Mandara Hut where you’ll savour a picnic lunch before continuing to the Maundi Crater, passing out through the Marangu Gate or alternatively walk to a beautiful waterfall through banana and tea plantations before returning to the lodge for lunch. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 13: Usumbura Mountains Lushoto

Today you will continue your wildlife safari holiday, travelling to Lushoto where you’ll visit a farm and savour a delicious lunch with a cheese tasting and a tour of the fragrant spice plantations. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 14: Usumbura Mountains Lushoto

This day of your East African safari can be spent at your leisure – there are a number of optional activities that you can choose such as going for a walk through the scenic forests of the Usumbura Mountains to a waterfall or a more challenging hike up to Irente Peak to admire the spectacular views. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 15: Dar Es Salaam

On the final day of your East Africa Safari Package, after breakfast you will be driven from the Usumbura Mountains to Dar es Salaam. The journey takes you through some picturesque scenery and you will be dropped at the airport or ferry where your safari ends. (Breakfast Included)
